Pudsey's Top 5 tips on taking your dog on a woodland walk:

1. Take your doggy’s favourite treat to reward them

2. Vary your route because dogs love to explore new smells/scents

3. Take their favourite toy to have fun (ball, squeaky toy...etc)

4. Run around with your dog – it’s great for keeping you both fit!

5. Last but not least remember your pooper scooper!

Ashleigh and Pudsey Q&A

Hi Ashleigh! How often do you take Pudsey on a woodland walk?

I like to take Pudsey on woodland walks as much as possible, especially in the Autumn when the leaves are such beautiful colours.

What wildlife does he like?

Pudsey loves to chase birds. He races to catch them, and as they take off he jumps up in the air, as if he is trying to fly.

What’s the first thing you do when you get home after a woodland walk with Pudsey?

After a walk in the woods, I take him home and brush his coat out so there are no bits of twigs or foliage stuck in his coat that will mat it.  If he is really muddy and wet, I usually hose him down in the bath and then towel dry him.

What’s the funniest thing that’s ever happened on a woodland/forest walk?

The funniest thing that’s happened on a woodland walk, is when it was snowing, Pudsey literally had ice packed snow attached to his feet like snow boots.  He could hardly walk and we had to melt the snow boots with a bucket of warm water when we got home.

Hi Pudsey! Where is your favourite woodland (or forest) walk? Why?

My favourite woodland walk is at Irchester Country Park. We know it quite well, and we take all the off route tracks through the country park, which is great for exploring.

Do you practise any of your dance routines in the woods? If so, what?

We don’t practise any of our dance routines during our woodland walks.  We just have fun running about and sometimes jumping the odd log.

What’s your favourite season for a woodland walk?

My favourite season is Autumn, as I love to rummage around in the leaves.
