In new research by Sainsbury's, children have chosen David Beckham and Katy Perry respectively as their top celebrities who they'd love to be read a story by.
Ant & Dec, Cheryl Cole and Lady Gaga all also finished in the top five.
The news comes prior to World Book Day on March 6, and also found out some interesting statistics about parents and their reading patterns.
Nearly half (49.9%) of those asked admitted that characters with traits that they'd like their children to adopt make them more likely to read their kids a book, and over a third of parents (35%) wished they could spend more time reading to their children.
The Gruffalo and Disney's Tangled came out on top as the most popular book choice by parents for children, but it was Brave's confidence (29%) and Superman's selflessness (26%) that made them the most popular role models.
89% of children said that they'd love a celebrity to read them a story, with one in five boys choosing David Beckham (23%) and most girls picking Katy Perry (18%).
The study consisted of 2,000 parents and children aged 4 - 10 years old.
A spokesperson for Sainsbury’s, said: “This week, activities in schools and in our stores all around the UK will inspire children to read by encouraging them to role play in dress up with their favourite book. As one of the leading retailers for dress up, it’s great to see that The Gruffalo is the most popular book voted for by children.”
“We are proud to be a retailer for children’s dress up and can’t wait to see all the superheroes, princesses, knights, pirates and friends in-store celebrating the nation’s week of reading.”
