Ioan Gruffudd and Alice Evans
Ioan Gruffudd and his wife have welcomed a baby girl Elsie Marigold into the world.
Alice Evans was due on September 25 but gave birth to the couple's second child two weeks early on September 13 and the pair have named the new addition Elsie Marigold.
In a statement to E! news, the couple said: "We are beyond thrilled to announce the arrival of our daughter, Elsie Marigold, on September 13. A little sister for Ella Betsi. We both feel very grateful and very blessed."
Welsh star Ioan, 39, previously joked he is already run off his feet with one tot at home, but thinks he and Alice, 42, will enjoy the challenge of another child.
He said: "She's very, very strong. She's like her mother. I've got my work cut out for me at home."
However, the pair have already prepared themselves for sibling rivalry, but are confident their first born, four-year-old Ella, will be excited her new sister.
Ioan said previously: "She'll be four by the time the baby arrives, so I think she'll cope quite well with it."
The couple met during the filming of Disney family flick '102 Dalmatians' in 2000 and married in September 2007 in Mexico.
Fellow Welsh actor Matthew Rhys - who lived with Ioan when they were both trying to get their big breaks in the acting business - was one of the best men at the ceremony.
