Hi everyone, I hope you found my last blog useful where I discussed the power of networking and how it can you and you your business develop. I didn’t get chance to write last month as things have been really busy since taking on my job alongside my business. In that short time since my circumstances have changed, it has made my think a lot about where I want to go and who I want to be.

I'm A Mini

It has raised several questions about how I want my life to be and made me realise how important my and family’s happiness is. I meet a lot of people doing what I do and as a result get to know people well and I’ve learnt that we are all very similar, battling with similar issues, trying to juggle everything and be everything and to do the best we can. However, it seems to be that however much we do we are never satisfied or its never good enough and so we almost push ourselves to breaking point – which then raises the question – For what?? What are we so desperately trying to achieve all the time?? Why can’t we just acknowledge the achievements we have already made and accept that things take time.

I have come the conclusion that we are may be addicted to the chase but by doing that we miss the moment of achieving and never actually enjoy it – therefore never being satisfied. As humans we like to be liked, we are people pleasers but guess what you can’t and won’t please everyone – so stop trying to – it’s wasting your valuable time. They are not part of your tribe and that’s okay – you will attract certain people in life – stick with those who are genuine.

I have certainly learnt that in order for us to be happy we need to live in the moment and actually experience our daily lives rather than just be on auto pilot surviving each day. We don’t recognise what we do each and every day as because we don’t we are constantly searching for that something to make us happy. If we actually stopped and looked around we would find that everything that makes us happy is likely to be right in front of us every single day but you are choosing to look elsewhere – The typical phrase “well if we could have this then, we would be happy” – You will never be happy with that mindset.

I have also learnt recently that in order to improve your happiness you need to cut out toxic or negative energy - in what ever form that may be – whether its friendships, relationships, places – anything that is having a negative impact on your life – you need to step away from and surround yourself with positivity and I can promise you, you will notice a difference.

I recently stopped attending something and since then (and its only been a few weeks) I have felt different. I no longer have the feeling of dread, I wasn’t gaining anything from it and it was a waste of my day. Since I stopped, it has freed up my time, it has had a positive impact on my business and I feel lighter.

Sometimes small changes and have a huge impact.

A few things to think about –

Cut out negative energy to improve happiness.

Be you, live your life not someone else’s.

Say NO! You do not have to do EVERYTHING!

You won’t please everyone and that’s okay

Stop chasing happiness, it’s already there!

I hope what I have talked about has helped anyone finding life’s stresses too much. Take the pressure off yourself and do what is right for you.
