The pair were in Glasgow to kickstart the construction of giant alien “Bloxx” featured in new hit series, Ben 10: Omniverse, and made entirely out of plastic bricks.

The world record attempt is for the most people participating in the build of the giant sculpture and at the launch event yesterday 1,735 people contributed to the record. Once completed, it will be over 3 metres high, 3 metres wide, weigh half a ton and be made up of 250,000 plastic bricks.

My son Zach is a massive fan of Ben 10 and I’m earning some serious Mummy brownie points with him right now."

Running throughout the summer holidays, the Alien World Record challenge will tour a further 8 locations across the UK where kids and parents will get the opportunity to be part of a Guinness World Record by laying down a brick of their own. The sculpture will get bigger and bigger at each location it visits.

Stacey Soloman said: “I’m delighted to be part of the Cartoon Network Guinness World Record attempt. My son Zach is a massive fan of Ben 10 and I’m earning some serious Mummy brownie points with him right now.

"We want everyone to get involved and be a part of record-breaking history – it’s a great way of banishing the school holiday boredom so be sure to come on down to your local event.”

Stacey’s Scottish family were out in force to cheer her on at the launch event which took place in Glasgow at the St Enoch shopping centre yesterday. Her uncle came along and brought with him a 45-year-old plastic brick that was his as a young boy which he added to the alien sculpture

Kirsty McCabe added: “Scotland did some stirling work this weekend adding nearly 2,000 bricks to the Ben 10 alien sculpture…now its time to challenge the rest of the UK to see what they can do!”

The Alien World Record challenge will be visiting a whole host of locations throughout the summer, finishing up at Bluewater in Kent where official Guinness World Record adjudicators will reveal whether the attempt has been successful. The full list of locations is as follows:
