Does your daughter dream of being a princess when she grows up?
Princess as a career choice is not as straight forward as it seems so you may want to fill her in on the real deal.
A former Snow White actress from Disney theme parks -- called a "face character" in Disney speak is anonymously handing out behind-the-scenes policies and drama in a Reddit Ask Me Anything, summarised on Business Insider.
Here are some of the exposes from the Disney princess whistle blower:
You have got to have the right body type. Typical princesses are between 5'4" and 5'7", but in the case of say Tinkerbell, Alice and Wendy they must be more petite - between 4'11" to 5'2".
Princess' have a short age span loosing there glitter quickly. Most are played by females between 18 and 23. A 27-year-old princess would be considered over the hill--ouch!
There is some serious princess preening. To get the look there is the costume, makeup-wig which all takes anything up to an hour to get in character, and constant touch-ups throughout the day.
Then there are the 'stalkers'Princesses deal with stalkers. This particular actress had to deal with a creepy fan who was convinced she was the real Snow White, and threatened to kill the imitators. Help!
Pay and Conditions - It's hard to make it a career. Princesses make about £9 to £12 an hour, which works out to a starting salary of around £18,000, with little chance for a significant raise.
There's no world except Disney World. A princess can never acknowledge things outside her character's world so forget that SpongeBob shirt you're wearing. While off duty talking about Disney (or even revealing what princess she plays) on social media is punishable by a laced apple!
