Christmas Tradition

Christmas Tradition

Whether it's having all the family round to your place, buying yourself something special or burning the Christmas dinner, we've all got a Christmas tradition that makes the day really special (perhaps not the latter, although that problem should be solved with our guide to Christmas dinner!).

Tradition is buzz word of the month every December but why not make this year extra special and start a new Christmas tradition? Take a few handy hints from some celebrity yule tide traditions!

Nicholas Cage started his own Christmas tradition by having a “Dickens Christmas”. Bringing his family over to England for the holiday was a first for them at Christmas and he said how he wanted to walk around Bath and see how the locals celebrate Christmas.

Perhaps an idealistic view for the American actor but I'm sure it was a great Christmas day for all!

Teri Hatcher might not seem like much of a domestic goddess if we're to believe her on-screen Desperate Housewife character, but rumour has it she's a dab hand in the kitchen.

Every Christmas she makes gingerbread houses with her daughter for homemade gifts and together they create their own little Christmas town! Aww, sweet.

American sit-com giant Kelsey Grammer has had the same Christmas tradition with his family since he was 12 years old, ever since his grandad passed away.

Kelsey took over as chief present-giver and decorator when he was a boy and he still holds the responsibilities in his house to date, even if a few Christmas Eve presents have sneaked in over the years!

Frost bite and blue lips aren't a tradition for everyone at Christmas; Florida girl, Brittany Snow, of 'John Tucker must die' fame isn't used to the cold weather at Christmas, so she visits her home town at Christmas to go to the beach and make sand angels.

And CSI star Marg Helgenberger is a woman on a year long present mission, because she buys her presents throughout the year so that she isn't stressed by the time Christmas comes. If only we were all so intuitive!

So whatever your Christmas tradition is, be it wacky, weird  or wonderful,  make it one that will last!
