The Duchess of Cambridge hasn’t even given birth yet, but, with months to go, brother-in-law Harry has been crowned the world’s coolest uncle.
With all the talk about William and Kate becoming parents next year, someone seems to have forgotten about Britain's most eligible bachelor, Prince Harry becoming an uncle - and an awesome one at that.
A recent survey by dating site Cupid.com, of 500 Brits revealed that 85 per cent of men and 99 per cent of women think Prince Harry will make the coolest uncle ever, to the royal baby.
The cheeky Prince, who will be pushed back a place as heir to the British throne when the royal tot arrives, has certainly got all the personality traits of a cool uncle. Just imagine the war stories, jokes and birthday parties, especially when the little one turns 18.
It is well known that the young prince is very close to sister-in-law Catherine, who has been suffering from severe morning sickness since news of her pregnancy came to light. He is currently stationed on military duty in Afghanistan, and was informed the Duchess of Cambridge was pregnant via email after he proved unreachable by phone.
However, the youngest son of Prince Charles, who is due to return to Britain in January after four months on duty, was one of the first members of the Royal family to learn about the Duchess’s pregnancy.
Delighted Prince Harry has sent his pregnant sister-in-law a touching get-well message from his camp in Afghanistan. The 28-year-old is serving in the war-torn country as an Apache helicopter co-pilot gunner, but was still able to take some time out and send a heartfelt message to Kate, saying: ‘Get well soon, sis’ when she was at King Edward VII hospital, recovering from acute nausea, The Sun reported.
A source told the newspaper that Harry was ecstatic to hear the news. They said: “He's really looking forward to coming back and can't wait to be an uncle.”Furthermore, both Harry and the duchess’s sister, Pippa Middleton, are favourites to become godparents to the royal couple's first child after taking on best man and maid of honour duties at their wedding, but close friends could also be in the running for the coveted role.
Joe Little, Managing Editor of the Majesty royal magazine, told the MailOnline: "I think Harry and Pippa are very likely. As you know most people have just one or two godparents. But in royal circles you have a lot more, certainly William had quite a team.
"I rather think they won't have quite so many - perhaps four. Harry would take care of the royal connection and Pippa would take care of the Middleton side. There are few options amongst their close friends. The van Cutsems and the van Straubenzees certainly."
And what about when Harry finally decides to settle down? The Cupid.com survey found that 65 per cent of women surveyed think he's definitely parent material, so it looks like now all he has to do is find his own princess.
For now though, Prince Harry keeps his crown as the ultimate singleton as 93 per cent of women and 84 per cent of men think he's living life the way that singles should.
Single-life frolics aside (and forgetting the prince’s Sin City fiasco earlier this year) we think that Harry will make a great uncle. What do you think? Comment below or tweet us @FemaleFirst_UK
