BBC children’s television presenter Michaela Strachan this week launched a magical natural history podcast for schools to give children a special behind-the-scenes look at London’s most famous museum, the Natural History Museum.

The podcast includes fun and educational facts about the lives, habits and characteristics of dinosaurs and mammals, the podcast has been exclusively filmed in the amazing DinoJaws and mammal galleries at the Natural History Museum, mirroring the characters from the film. The podcast can be downloaded from and linked to from the links below for you to feature on your site.

The podcast has been created as part of a whole host of educational activities surrounding the release of Night at the Museum on DVD with over 1000 schools having already been invited to enter an exclusive Night at the Museum competition and the podcast is a great opportunity for everyone to be involved in the magic!

Michaela is a passionate supporter of natural history and history and is delighted to be involved in this project, encouraging children to become more involved in history and enhance their learning.

Michaela is supporting Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment’s national initiative for schools, bringing natural history and history to life for children all across the UK.

Night at the Museum has such a strong educational message that is has invigorated interest in natural history and museums with children across the country, resulting in a rise in museum visitors.

The films director Shawn Levy intended for the film to have a strong educational element and indeed, so much interest has been shown in the film’s characters that the props, all of which are of museum quality and historically accurate, are now on display in the LA Natural History Museum.

Children across the UK can also experience their very own ‘Night at the Museum’ as the month of May sees the launch of Museum and Galleries Month. On May 19th children will be able to attend their local museum for a 'Night at the Museum', as 50 museums join forces to host a screening of the film and a spooky night-time tour.
