We all want to be a good example for our kids. Most pregnant women want to get their body back soon after giving birth. However, none of these can be achieved overnight.
Celebrities seem to lose their weight in weeks after childbirth and most women are trying to do the same by following their extreme diets or trying out fitness regimes and food plans that celebrities do.
But everybody is different so there should be an individual plan made for each person. First of all, new mums need motivation. Think why you want to get back into shape. Is it for health reasons? We all know how being overweight can affect our health. Do you want to get your body back in order to look great and be able to wear whatever you want? Or is it because you want to be a superior example for your child?
Probably all of these are important, but the last one should be the main motivator. You will be the biggest authority for your child in their first years of life, so it is really important to show them how crucial it is to have and lead a healthy lifestyle.
It is easy to start with small changes such as getting more active with your child, doesn’t matter if you are playing inside or outside, it is always good to get yourself and your child moving. And children will love family trips to the park on weekends as being outdoors can encourage them to be more active later in life.
When your baby starts eating solid food, get as many fruits and vegetables into their diet as possible and avoid sweets or unhealthy food for as long as possible. Also, try to cook at home more often. Not only will this save you money, burn some calories while you cook, teach your children how to cook, but also you can use fresh ingredients to make much healthier meals than takeaways or pre-cooked meals from the supermarket.
It is all about moving more and eating healthier when it comes to losing weight and keeping it off – we all know that. So why not give your child an opportunity to have a healthy lifestyle and give yourself the best body ever by changing your whole family’s way of life?
Always think about your children and do what you think is right for them. Don’t make it strict, but if you incorporate, let’s say, a walk every day or every other day into your family’s life, children will definitely enjoy it and later won’t imagine themselves not doing that. And when kids are old enough you can exercise or jog with them, which will be great for your health and can build a superior bond between you and your children.
Make small changes this year and have a healthy and happy family in the future!
