Ronda Rousey spent the night in hospital after a shocking loss to Holly Holm at the UFC 193 championship in Melbourne, Australia.
Rousey was knocked out by a brutal kick to the head during the second round, losing her UFC championship and unbeaten record with the first defeat of her career.
The UFC pin-up girl was later transported to hospital with a busted lip, where she stayed overnight, and saw a plastic surgeon the following day.
Rousey posted an update via Instagram, thanking fans for their support and announcing that she will take a short break from UFC.
"I just wanted to thank everyone for the love and support," Rousey wrote. "I appreciate the concerns about my health, but I'm fine. As I had mentioned before, I'm going to take a little bit of time, but I'll be back."
Several celebrities weighed in on the 28-year-old's defeat, with Donald Trump writing that he was "glad" she lost, because she is "not a nice person". Lady Gaga also criticised Rousey's sportsmanship, writing on Twitter: "That's what you get for not touching gloves!"
