On Thursday December 9th at 8pm, we'll be tuning in to Smile Train's virtual Christmas carols service, to kickstart the festive season in style!
The hour-long event will take place at the chapel from Love Actually, better-known as the Grosvenor Chapel in Mayfair, and will feature performances from the Choir of Grosvenor Chapel, as well as a seasonal welcome message from Smile Train UK Director, Ian Vallance.
Not just spreading holiday cheer with carols, the concert will feature the charity's Ambassadors who will share inspiring stories, as well as hymns from seven of Smile Train's patient choirs in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile and Nigeria, made up of youngsters who have benefited from the charity's cleft care.
A regional update from Smile Train's programme in the Philippines will also be given, showing the charity's approach to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, as well as a look at their recovery as restrictions continue to lift.
Carol concert curator and Development Manager at Smile Train UK, Roanne Moore comments: "After the success of last year's first virtual Christmas carols concert, and the continued uncertainty around the pandemic, we've decided to again digitally-adapt this years' annual celebration.
"We're so excited to kick off the festive season and put a smile on people's faces after another turbulent year. So, dust off your Santa hat, grab your nearest and dearest and gather round to sing-along to your favourite carols and help spread Christmas cheer."
Free to watch, the concert will see all online donations go to helping the charity continue to provide free cleft surgery and comprehensive cleft care to children across the world.
Those watching are encouraged to help spread awareness by sharing a photo of themselves on social media during the event, alongside the hashtag #SmileTrainCarolsConcert.
