Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg said that when hiring he looks for someone he would work for.

Hire who you would like as a boss

Hire who you would like as a boss

He described this as a test in Barcelona last night.

"I will only hire someone to work directly for me if I would work for that person," Zuckerberg said. "It's a pretty good test."

This has enabled him to hire some of the most prominent technology executives in the world such as Sheryl Sandberg. He employed her as the chief operating officer at Facebook and is arguably one of the most famous women in the tech arena.

Zuckerberg sees Sandberg as a mentor as well as an employee and admitted that she has helped him make Facebook into a thriving business. Despite picking the elite for his staff, there are relatively few of them.

"The most important thing is to keep your team as small as possible," he said at the meeting . "[Facebook] serves more than a billion people around the world but our team has fewer than 10,000 people. It's only possible because of modern technology. Big companies get bloated."

Zuckerberg holds monthly meetings in town halls across the globe to answer questions from Facebook staff and users.

This was his second biggest public appearance. In his speech at the Mobile World Congress, it was expected that he would take on telecom firms on how to get internet access to people around the globe. He talked more so about making peace with the companies.

It is suggested that many telephone operators are not impressed with the likes of Facebook which is making huge profit by using networks that the phone companies are obliged to invest in.

On the whole, the telecoms firms talked about how they are collaborating with Facebook and the money it is making them by doing so.
