Skunk Anansie have returned with the fantastic new album 'Black Traffic' and release their second single ‘I Hope You Get To Meet Your Hero’.
The band have moulded a sound crackling with energy alongside honest heart felt sentiment. ‘I Hope You Get To Meet Your Hero' taps into the bands wealth of experience, never failing in the delivery of purpose and relevance.
Skin's distinguished vocal on the track is accompanied by subtle guitar rifts and a powerful string arrangement highlighting the emotive lyrics; creating a dynamic return for the band.
We're really excited about the release of 'I hope you get to meet your Hero' which is one of our fave tracks from our new album 'Black Traffic'.
It's a song about the perils of putting people you love on pedestals. We especially loved working again with Wil Malone (Adele, The Verve, Take That) who arranged the strings on this track, they really help the mood shine out. We look forward to playing this one live, gonna be a kila!
Remixes come from Gregor Salto and Daddy’s Groove. Gregor Salto is known for his Latin & soul infused synths and with a string of remixes and collaborations under his belt for the likes of Kaskade, AfroJack and Rita Ora, it's no wonder why he’s known as one of Holland's top DJs.
Daddy's Groove are the Italian stallions of the house music scene and have experienced tremendous success through collaborations with David Guetta as well as a series of remixes for The Wanted, Kylie Minogue and James Blunt as well consistent support from Pete Tong and Swedish House Mafia.
Black Traffic is the bands first independent release via their own label working in partnership with 100% Records. The album out now is backed by and extensive 20 date European Tour culminating in a sold out Brixton Academy show on December 1st.
