West Midland new guns, Jet Pack, are set to make a hefty impression on the currently buoyant Brit-rock scene with their heartfelt brand of melody-drenched rock.
Merging a sincere alternative edge with probing guitar rhythms and alluring emotive vocal lines, fused with strong post-punk DIY ethics, the hard working foursome take from the hooky fluency of Blink 182, the sheer rock dynamism of Foo Fighters, and the song writing dexterity of Jimmy Eat World.
In the culmination, Jet Pack have produced a captivating sound that will pound right out of your speakers.
Formed out of university in 2008 and born in Cheltenham, Jet Pack consist of Dennis Cook (Vocals / Guitar), Paul Roberts (Lead Guitar / Vocals), Richard Beattie (Bass), and Sam Haskins (Drums), who were all brought together by their mutual love for pop-punk.
Since then, the band have relentlessly toured the nation’s highways and byways, playing headline home town shows supporting Hype Theory, General Fiasco, Attention Thieves, and Hildamay, as well as playing acoustic slots before Blink 182 at the LG Arena in Birmingham.
Jet Pack are also set to open with another acoustic slot for Biffy Clyro and City and Colour later this month. With a strong work ethos, aided by their memorably hi-octane live shows, everything is starting to fall into place for the band, as their growing fan-base will testify.
Jet Pack now stride forward as they step up to the plate with their new EP ‘Chasing Sunsets’. With esteemed producer Matt O’Grady (Youmeatsix, Deaf Havana) at the helm, the record is a heaving enterprise of strapping riffs and hooky cuts, gleaming with classy contagious melodies and considered up-tempo arrangements.
From the stomping groovage and urgent intent of their new single ‘Back To Life’, to the sweeping contagious refrain of ‘Now I Know How John Locke Felt’, right through to the majestic and utterly tuneful ‘Heat Of The Moment’, and to the anthemic ‘All I Need’, the alt-rockers exert a snappy ability for solid melody and have unveiled a killer debut record that is sure to steer the band to giddy heights for the remainder of 2013 and beyond!
