Since first coming together back in 2002, Brother Firetribe have flown the flag for hard rock‘n’roll the way it used to be played – with long hair, snug-fitting trousers plus an overriding sense of larger-than-life fun; and with ‘Live At Apollo’ – their first live album & DVD – they are determined to keep the smiles (and the pyro) flashing away as hard as possible…
Recorded on a single night in April 2009, with the Apollo Club in Helsinki the designated venue, both this live album & DVD are a 14-track, hour-plus-long showcase for the sort of melodic hard rock anthems that will instantly appeal to fans of the great US AOR acts of the ’70s & ’80s – the likes of Journey, Night Ranger & Boston.
Comprising material drawn from the two BFT studio albums, ‘Break Out’ (2008) and ‘Heart Full Of Fire’ (2008), ‘Live At Apollo’ is now confirmed for release on March 15th 2010 via Spinefarm Records UK; featured tracks include the singles ‘I Am Rock’ & ‘Heart Full Of Fire’, the latter complete with a guest vocal appearance from Nightwish’s Anette Olzon, plus a cover of ‘Chasing The Angels’, a song originally performed by Loverboy frontman Mike Reno on the ‘Iron Eagle 2’ soundtrack.
The BFT line-up is centred around a number of high-profile Finnish musicians, including Nightwish guitarist Emppu Vuorinen & Leverage frontman Pekka Ansio Heino; the latest Leverage album, ‘Circus Colossus’, was released via Spinefarm Records UK at the tail end of 2009.
