Not ‘just’ a great name…The Casino Brawl can back it all up with the perfect tirade of soaring melodies and city leveling - bruising breakdowns…
From the North-East of the England; TCB were formed in 2006 with Jonny Ferguson (Synth, vocals, samples), Adam Ridley (guitar), Marc Henessey (guitar), Jamie Common (bass) and James Summersby (drums). In November 06 TCB went to Outhouse studios (Enter Shikari) and recorded their first 4 song demo.
Since then they have played successful and packed out dates across Europe with their relentless and unpredictably explosive live shows enforcing and furthering a furiously expanding international fan-base. Selling out UK venues (even before a record is released) and only ever improving their critically acclaimed stage show this band is accepted by both the hardcore elite and mainstream ‘sing a long’ audience - this band have it all, constantly galvanizing and inspiring industry and music fans alike wherever they go.
The summer of ‘08’ and the highly respected and successful UK label ‘In at the Deep End’ (Gallows, Architects, Shaped By Fate) snatches up the band for their debut album. With large amount of European attention the LP will be released to the high demand and mass anticipation of so many across the UK and much further afield. The band recorded the full length release (mastered by Alan Douches – Converge, Mastodon, Dillinger), about the new record Jonny (vocals) says “Everything I write about is real and is based on experience on some level or another so I hope that people will be able to relate to the songs. It's a pretty feel good record too and I hope it makes people do just that...”
Also about the new album Jonny goes on to comment “I'd say it’s very different. The previous releases we've had were just us finding what we were about. We started off playing pretty basic kind of metal/hardcore mix-ups and as we progressed, we dropped some things like the synth and found more comfort in lighter, poppier sounds.
“I think this is the first record that people will get the full idea of who we are”. “When we started writing the record, we didn't think ‘we want it to sound like this’ or anything. I think we really found our style. We all listen to very different types of music and it was finding a balance of what we'd all like playing and hearing. We wanted to write a fun sounding record as we're not like a total arms folded, serious band.
But at the same time, we do have a deeper, meaningful side to us and we wanted to show that through the music too. The balance we got is what you hear and we're all pleased with it. After the first few songs, everything just seemed to flow out of us quite naturally”.
