The 4 track EP, due for release on July 2 on their own TAP label, features the highly anticipated title track from the band’s 2006 debut album ‘Rise’ which has until now remained unreleased.
The ‘Rise 2012’ EP follows last year’s release of the bands third consecutive Top 40 studio album ‘Revival’ and also contains new Celtic tinged rocker ‘Lost’.
Founded in Northern Ireland in 2000, The Answer have spent the last decade proving their rock ‘n’ roll credentials and making the kind of life-affirming, eardrum-threatening music that separates the truly great from the merely adequate.
To coincide with the release of ‘Rise 2012’ The Answer will be performing a special concert at the iconic Belfast music venue The Ulster Hall as part of the BBC televised 150th anniversary celebration of the legendary venue.
The event named ‘The Great Northern Songbook - 150 Years Of The Ulster Hall’ will take place on May 22nd and will see some of Northern Irelands finest talent showcased. Various artists including The Answer will join forces with The Ulster Orchestra to perform the nation’s 10 favourite songs composed by local writers, as voted for by the public.
The Answer will also be undertaking a truly unique one off Belfast performance of the full 2006 RISE album at The Empire on July 5th. Tickets go on sale on Wednesday 16th 2012.
An action packed summer will see The Answer perform shows in Italy with Wolfmother as well as festival appearances in UK, The Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland and France.
