High-Flying UK Punk-rock foursome ‘My Favourite Runner Up’, set loose their explosive new EP ‘Thoughts, Feelings, Actions’, out 6th August through all digital sources.
Formed in 2006 during their teenage years and sporting a mutual affection for Jimmy Eat World, Lostprophets, Mayday Parade, and New Found Glory, ‘My Favourite Runner Up’ bring together highly engaging melodic tuneage with blistering cutting riffs, and are poised to be one of the breakthrough bands of 2012.
Having already secured widespread national radio play on BBC Radio One and on Alex Baker’s Kerrang! Radio Unsigned show, where he touted the band as his ‘favourite new band!’’, the industrious four-piece have also extensively toured through the length and breadth of the UK racking up supports with everyone from Cerys Matthews and The Blitz Kids through to the likes of Kids Can't Fly, I Spy Strangers, and Under The Influence. The band are now primed to reach new heights and have the perfect accompaniment in the form of their spanking new record ‘Thoughts, Feelings, Actions’.
My Favourite Runner Up’s eagerly awaited EP, ‘Thoughts, Feelings, Actions’, raises the bar at every turn. With soaring rhythms and almost effortlessly woven punk-rock melodies, the quartet have chiselled out a record full of real sincerity packed with pounding riffery and peppered with enticing hooks.
From the anthemic and deliciously tuneful opener ‘Let It Ride’, to the stalwart craftsmanship of ‘Our Time Now’, and to the punk-rock melodic beatings of ‘Drawing Board’ and the vigour and hooky refrain of ‘Separate Myself From Me’, ‘Thoughts, Feelings, Actions’ is a candid statement of intent fuelled by a whole-hearted driving DIY ethos.
