Following the popular Stateside release of their debut album âEveryday Behaviorâ, Mêlée introduce themselves to the UK with their second album âDevils & Angelsâ. The album is their first for Warner Bros. Records and will be released on July 28th.
Demonstrating the bandâs craft of piano based melody with a raw rock edge, âDevils & Angelsâ was produced by Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance, Head Automatica). Lead by Chris Cronâs emotive vocals and evocative piano, âDevils & Angelsâ highlights songs including the soaring ballad âCanât Hold Onâ, the sheer energy of âFrequently Baby (Sheâs a Teenage Maniac)â and the albumâs hook laden first single âBuilt To Lastâ (released July 21st).
âDevils & Angelsâ was written by Cron with guitarist Ricky Sans, while bassist Ryan Malloy and drummer Mike Nader also contributed to the arrangements.
âThe album is about being in your twenties in modern America,â explains Cron. âItâs about our experiences right now â with life, love, friends â and asking questions about where weâre going and whatâs going to happen. Thatâs the whole theme.â
Formed in Orange County, Mêlée debuted in 2003 with the âAgainst The Tideâ EP for Hopeless Records. The following year saw the release of the bandâs full-length debut âEverday Behaviorâ on Hopeless Records/Sub City, drawing the attention of Warner Bros. Records with whom the band signed to in September 2005.
Mêlée have since hit the Warped and Take Action! tours, as well as performing with bands such as The Donnas, Sugarcult, Motion City Soundtrack, Bowling For Soup and Bayside.
Mêlée recently toured mainland Europe where theyâre already on the airplay Top 10 in several key territories.
