After 22 million record sales and a three year hiatus, Kid Rock is back with a brand new album âRock N Roll Jesusâ.
The album debuted at number one on the US Billboard charts (Kid Rockâs first US number one album) and is set for UK release on July 28 through Atlantic Records. The album is preceded by the single âAll Summer Longâ on July 14 (July 7 digitally), which has been added straight to the Radio 2 A â list and is already B â listed at Virgin and Capital.
Recorded at his Clarkston Chophouse studio in Michigan, the album was produced by Kid Rock and Rob Cavallo (Green Day, Goo Goo Dolls, My Chemical Romance), and sees Rock backed by his long-time Twisted Brown Trucker band, with additional vocals by the Fisk Jubilee Singers.Â
Kid Rock hustled in the Detroit underground for over ten years before he burst into the mainstream in 1999 with the timeless rock anthem "Bawitdaba." Other hits like "Cowboy" and "American Bad A**" followed while ballads like his "Picture" duet with Sheryl Crow and "Only God Knows Why" helped to propel him forward as one of the greatest artists of our time. His latest offering âRock N Roll Jesusâ is no exception, running the gamut from hard rock to hip-hop to country and soul. Easily the artist's most provocative work to date, the album tackles themes such as race relations, religion in America, and, of course, sex.
Having recently taken London by storm with an electrifying performance at the Shepherds Bush Empire Kid Rock will be back on UK shores for more shows later this year, more news to follow shortly.
