Hundred Days
Spawned in Yeovil, Somerset, Hundred Days plough forward expressing a sound that impressively rides the thin line between heavy metal and classic rock.
Garnering influence from contemporary custodians such as ‘30 Seconds To Mars’ and ‘Slash’, through to colossal classic kings ‘AC/DC’ and ‘Led Zeppelin’, Hundred Days display their own stripes, resolving to etch a different slant on the heavy rock genre.
Although the band were originally formed in the Summer of 2007, the roots of Hundred Days stem back to the late nineties where the current line-up of the band played under the guise ‘X-Teller’, along with a different singer. After a series of successful UK tours and a hatful of official releases, ‘X-Teller’ split.
After taking a year off, three of the four, decided to reform under a new moniker and with lead guitarist Stuart Curtin stepping up to take over the vocals duties and with bassist Simon Evans and drummer Ryan Leese resuming their posts as the rhythm section.
The galvanized trio chose an uncharted approach to mould and form their brand new set and with renewed vigor Hundred Days were officially born.
Now fast forward to the present day and the industrious trio have nationally released two records, have played the length and breadth of the UK (including a series of high-profile festival appearances throughout the South-West area), and have supported Hugh Cornwell from legendary punks, ‘The Stranglers’. Hundred Days are now poised to break the national scene with their third release, in the shape of their explosive new album ‘Mission Exodus’.
'Mission Exodus' is Hundred Days’ biggest release to date; the album flows with epic production underpinned by subtle textures and intricately woven guitar parts.
The album manages to shine as a modern rock record while still tipping it’s cap to a host of iconic artists from the power and precision of Metallica to the classic cool of Guns ‘N Roses and Led Zeppelin.
‘Mission Exodus’ is stacked with fourteen full length tracks and features two astute cover versions including 80’s mega hit ‘Power of Love' by Huey Lewis and The News, and a live version of The Wings’ classic ‘Live and Let Die’. Also look out for a series of UK shows penned for the Autumn period.
