X is the highly anticipated debut album from Bournemouth’s post hard/melodic core crossover pioneers, Death Of An Artist.
The writing agenda for X was as direct as it was uncompromiseable - Be honest and be natural.
The honesty is displayed through the themes explored, which focus on overcoming obstacles life inadvertently dishes out when you go against your word.
The natural element is conveyed through the manner they took to recording X. Intent on keeping the process pure to represent DOAA as they sound on stage, they plugged guitars into amps, no midi required, set-up real drums, no triggers required and sang straight into their mics, no melodyne required.
This approach serves justice to the crafting of the 10-tracks and the time, effort and money invested by the band.
Further cementing the DOAA ethos, they more than hold their own on the live stage and have proved this time and time again with exhilarating energetic performances, alongside the likes of Lower Than Atlantis, Deaf Havana, Heart In Hand, Heights, Deez Nuts and The Amitty Affliction, to name but a few.
