In their own words, Campus are 'a furious blend of high energy post-hardcore, with the single goal of reaching as many souls as possible', and the Belgians’ new ‘Empathy’ EP, out on 28 May via Small Town Records, is exactly that.
Having conquered their homeland, Campus have set their sights on the wider world, and are as hungry as hell to be heard. First stop the UK, where following a mind blowing performance at last weekend’s Hit The Deck Festival, they have not only gained hordes of new fans, but also landed themselves a slot at this year’s Hevy Festival.
Supporting their debut release "We are the silence", Campus burst onto the scene on a huge scale, opening up the Belgian leg of the 2007 Taste of Chaos tour with The Used, Rise Against, Aiden and Gallows.
Four years on, they have racked up a huge tour mileage with the likes of Alexisonfire, Cancer Bats, Parkway Drive, Bring Me The Horizon, Underoath, A Day To Remember, Architects, three performances at Groezrock and a slot Pukkelpop 2009.
Combined with the release of their highly acclaimed full length "Oh, Comely!", Campus have proved themselves as a force to be reckoned with at home, now it’s time for the rest of the world to take notice. In a nutshell, Campus play powerful metallic hardcore laced with a careful balance of melody, and are a must listen for fans of Architects, Underoath, Norma Jean, While She Sleeps.
