Jimi Hendrix fans will be given a glimpse into the rock legend's life when his former home in London is opened to the public.
The rocker moved into the house in Mayfair in 1968, two years before his death in 1970 at the age of 27. The property was next door to the house where classical musician George Handel lived for 36 years until his death in 1759, and is now part of the Handel House Museum.
To mark the 40th anniversary of the Purple Haze hitmaker's passing, museum staff have agreed to open the whole property up to the public as part of a special exhibition dedicated to Hendrix.
The apartment will be open for 12 days for public tours during the Hendrix in Britain exhibition which runs from August until November and includes handwritten lyrics, clothing and other memorabilia.
Fans will be able to buy tickets for the apartment tour between 15 and 26 September.
