Eric Clapton To Continue Crossroads Guitar Festival
Rock legend Eric Clapton delighted fans at his Crossroads Guitar Festival in Chicago, Illinois on Saturday (26Jun10) by declaring the 2010 event would not be the last.
The guitarist had previously announced Chicago's star-studded line-up, featuring Jeff Beck, B.B. King, Ronnie Wood and ZZ Top, would be the last of his benefit gigs to raise money for his Crossroads rehabilitation facility in Antigua. Two previous concerts were held in 2004 and 2007.
But, after taking to the stage for a finale performance of Rock Me Baby with King, Robert Cray and Jimmy Vaughn, Clapton announced he had had a change of heart about continuing the festival.
He told the crowd, "I know I said this would be the last one. But I don't think it will be."
The 2010 Crossroads Guitar Festival, which was hosted by actor Bill Murray, also featured sets by John Mayer and Sheryl Crow.
Vince Neil Arrested
Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil has been arrested in Las Vegas on suspicion on driving under the influence (DUI).
The singer's car was reportedly pulled over by cops as he was driving through Sin City on Sunday evening (27Jun10).
He was taken to Clark County Jail, where his bail was set at $2,000 (£1,333).
According to tmz, Neil's arrest came hours after he was allegedly involved in a bust-up with a female photographer. The snapper reportedly filed a complaint with police claiming the rocker had snatched her camera and smashed it after spotting her taking his picture earlier in the evening.
Rock Manager Aucoin Loses Cancer Battle
In sad news for the rock industry music mogul Bill Aucoin has died from complications to prostate cancer, aged 66.
The record industry executive and manager lost his battle with the disease in Florida on Monday (28Jun10).
As well as masterminding KISS' career, Aucoin also managed Billy Squier and Billy Idol.
