Slipknot star Shawn Crahan is urging fans to spend more time with their parents after losing his mum at the weekend.
The masked drummer, who rarely speaks or corresponds with fans, has posted a message on the group's website, explaining his absence from recent shows.
Revealing his mother Mary has passed away, Crahan, aka Clown, writes, "No preaching from me, but spend as much time as you can with your parents! Time moves very fast!"
A band statement reads, "Clown plans to return to the road shortly and appreciates everyone's understanding about his absence at the recent shows."
Crahan previously missed several Slipknot shows to support his wife who is ill with Crohn's disease.
