Gene Simmons' Lawyer has hit back at the couple who are suing him for alleged assault, calling the pair "opportunistic" and saying that their story is "riddled with false accusations."
Nathan Marlowe and wife Cynthia Manzo filed a lawsuit claiming the Kiss rocker assaulted and attacked them in a Los Angeles shopping mall last month - after he spotted them filming him with a video camera. They subsequently filed for a restraining order against him, but the request was thrown out by a judge.
They are now pursuing their claim through the courts, suing the bass player for assault, battery and infliction of emotional distress.
But Simmons' legal team is fighting back, with his attorney Barry Mallen accusing the pair of acting in an aggressive manner when they approached the star and his family.
Mallen tells TMZ.com that the couple "jumped at them and started yelling in their faces," and Simmons simply "moved Marlowe aside" so the family could safely get to their car.
He adds, "(They are) opportunistic (and their story is) riddled with distortions and false accusations."
