Fergie Planning Rock Record With Slash
Black Eyed Peas Star Fergie is planning to explore her passion for rock music on her next solo album - she's set to team up with Slash for his upcoming project.
The singer scored an international hit when she released her first solo album, The Dutchess, in 2006.
She has since returned to the Black Eyed Peas, but after recording a song with former Guns N' Roses rocker Slash for his upcoming self-titled solo project, Fergie is looking to further her rock credentials by enlisting the guitarist for her next record.
Slash tells Metal Hammer magazine, "I might actually do a rock record with Fergie, because she wants to do a rock record so I might get involved with her on that. She's got this killer rock 'n' roll voice."
The View Sober Up
Scottish rockers The View have vowed to curb their party lifestyle following the tragic death of their frontman's mother.
Singer Kyle Falconer was devastated after his mum, Elizabeth, passed away in November (09), but he resolved to continue his duties with the band, performing their scheduled gigs and working on their latest album.
Falconer admits the sad news had a profound effect on all the musicians and they have resolved to cut down on their drinking in a bid to focus completely on their music career.
He says, "It was hard at the time but you've just got to get over it. My mum wouldn't have liked it if I had just stopped performing.
"It's not like I'm sober, but I don't get as bad as when we first came out. I got a bit overexcited. I still like to party (but) we are doing sober rehearsals now. There's been a lot of pretty bad performances, getting too drunk and not remembering stuff, so we're just trying to keep on top of it."
Wire Hits Back In O'brien War Of Words
Manic Street Preachers Rocker Nicky Wire has fuelled a war of words with Radiohead's Ed O'Brien - he launched a furious tirade against the guitarist during a gig on Thursday (18Feb10).
The bass player was seething after O'Brien branded him a "w**ker" for accusing the Paranoid Android hitmakers of taking a stand against illegal downloaders only after they had made their fortune in the music industry.
Wire hit back at the Radiohead star during a show in Glasgow, Scotland on Thursday - branding O'Brien a "c**t" and mocking his education at an upmarket school.
He told the audience, "Apparently Ed O'Brien called me a w**ker. I'm really fucking scared. Go back to your boarding school you c**t!"
