Relient K were forced to complete their U.S. tour without frontman Matt Thiessen after he quit the road due to a family emergency.

Thiessen pulled out of the remaining dates of the band's Winter Wonder Slam last week upon hearing his mother had suffered a serious heart attack.

Relient K's manager, Kevin Spellman, says, "It is with great sadness to report that Matt's mother suffered a severe heart attack Monday evening. Matt flew home to be with his family and at his mother's side as she undergoes quadruple bypass surgery. We truly appreciate your understanding and prayers during this highly emotional time."

Thiessen addressed his family situation on Wednesday, taking to his Twitter.com page to assure fans his mum's operation had gone well.  He wrote, "Pretty sure the Dr. fixed my mommy. My heart feels better now, too."

Relient K rounded up their live shows with House of Heroes' Tim Skipper in Thiessen's place. The tour ended in Phoenix, Arizona on Sunday.
