Malefice have announced their new drummer is Chris Allan-Whyte who will make his debut appearance in Dundee on May 19, 2010 at the start of the Reading outfit’s two-week UK headlining tour.
Chris replaces Craig Thomas who bowed out amicably at the New England Metal And Hardcore Festival in Worcester, Massachusetts, USA. Frontman Dale Butler comments on the seamless switchover: “Malefice and Craig have been growing apart musically for some time, and therefore we all decided it was a good time for everyone to move on. We all want to thank him for his years of dedication, we’ll never forget the good times we had and we wish him luck in his new chosen direction!”
“Chris had the job as soon as he started playing. He was our last audition and we could tell looking around the room at the smiles on each other’s faces, that the whole band was convinced we had found our man. He’s brought new venom to our sound, and we’re really enjoying playing our music with the fresh vigour and perspective that he brings!
“We all know Chris from his previous band Shy of the Depth, who we toured with a few years ago, so on a professional and a personal level, we’re ready to get out on the road from May, with the new line up and kick some fucking heads in! See you in the pit!”
