I must admit, when I saw Iggy Pop was the ‘face’ of SwiftCover insurance, I nearly feel off my chair! But if you haven’t seen the ad yet, you could be in trouble, as the campaign has been banned after it was branded "misleading".
Iggy became the unlikely face of Internet insurance company SwiftCover.com earlier this year, and the promo showed the star writhing around and hitting golf balls as he promoted SwiftCover.com's speedy services, declaring "I got it Swiftcovered. I got insurance on my insurance."
But Britain's Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has discovered that entertainers are barred from taking out car insurance with the firm - so Pop does not have a Swiftcover policy.
A spokesperson for ASA says, "We concluded the ad was misleading."
