We all knew Green Day’s 21st Century Breakdown album was one of the most anticipated releases of 2009, and it seems the US think so too after sending straight to the top of the album chart.
In fact, the punk rockers have sold 215,000 copies of their new album 21st Century Breakdown in just three days!
The album was released on Friday and has already hit the top of the charts in the U.K. and other territories.
It's the group's second chart-topper, following 2004's American Idiot, and sets up a battle royal at the top of the Billboard countdown for next week's number one, between Green Day and Eminem, whose comeback album Relapse was released on Tuesday.
The Hannah Montana: The Movie soundtrack stays put at two on the new chart, while rapper Cam'Ron's Crime Pays debuts at three. Last week's number one, Chrisette Michele's Epiphany, falls to eight.
