Black Sabbath

Black Sabbath are set to reform for a new album and a tour - former frontman Ozzy Osbourne has confirmed the original members of the heavy rock band are "talking" about a reunion.

The Paranoid hitmakers have undergone several changes in their 42-year history, with founding guitarist Tony Iommi the only permanent member throughout.

The original line-up of Osbourne, Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward were last together in 1997 when they released a live album, but now they are eyeing a new record and a series of concerts. It would be the founding members' first studio album together since Osbourne was fired from the band in 1979.

Osbourne tells Australia's ABC News Radio, "(We are) in the talking process... The problem that we have is that if we do an album and it's anything less than where we left off, it's gonna be a big anticlimax."
