Tinie Tempah
The Urban Music Awards today announced the nominees for this year’s 8th annual celebration.
Tinie Tempah, Rihanna, Alexandra Burke, JLS, Professor Green, Plan B, Jay Sean, M.I.A, Roll Deep and Chipmunk are just a few chart-toppers who join a list of nominees for the biggest annual urban and dance music awards show. The much anticipated show will be held on the 18th of September 2010. UMA’s will recognise the achievements of artists, entertainers and media personalities in over 18 categories.
Recent chart topper, Tinie Tempah receives a record 4 nominations for Best Newcomer, Best Collaboration with his single ‘Pass Out’, Best HipHop Act and Best Music Video for the single ‘Frisky’. The South London rapper who recently signed a deal with EMI/Parlophone added “I am extremely excited to be nominated for this year. It’s like a dream come true. The Urban Music Awards has always been the breaking ground for artists worldwide and i have always wanted to be at the UMA’s. Thanks to all the fans who nominated me and i can’t wait till the show in September”.
Other nominees this year include; M.I.A , Skepta, Willy Denzy from France, Aggro Santos for his collaboration with ex-Pussy cat Dolls star, Kimberly Wyatt and newcomer Mclean who scored a top 10 hit with his single ‘My Name’ earlier this year. The Street Dance Category which was first introduced in 2006 and won by Britain’s Got Talent stars, ‘Flawless’ makes a welcome return with nominees including; Diversity, Flawless, Plague, Status and Boyblue. Alexandra Burke continues her 2010 success by grabbing 3 nominations for Best Album, Best Collaboration and Best Music Video for her chart topping single ‘All night Long’ with US artists Pitbull.
