Sometimes I love bands because their music is so exquisitely crafted and sometimes simply because it's irresistibly daft. In the case of Biscuithead and the Biscuit Badgers it's both!
I have always had a soft spot for obscure bands that dare to be different. Biscuithead and the Biscuit Badgers are just one of those bands. They have just released their new single entitled Soy Milk, which is unusually daft and cheesy; it reminds me somewhat of a parody.
For six years the Leeds band has been gathering a reputation as oddball tubadours. During that time their albums, Interspecies Disco and The Greatest Show on Toast have catapulted them to the edge of obscurity and now they present their new single Soy Milk, which is a song that exposes all sides of the unique Biscuit Badgers sound.
The song demonstrates some hilarious lyrics such as ‘there's nothing to spoil my enjoyment, cause’ when you were made no cows were exploited.’
Tom Robinson from BBC 6 Music says and I agree ‘Sometimes I love bands because their music is so exquisitely crafted and sometimes simply because it's irresistibly daft. In the case of Biscuithead and the Biscuit Badgers it's both!’
Here is a group that relies on tuba powered pop and daft lyrics to be different, strangely enough it actually works. The quartet might not be racing up the charts anytime soon but the song does what it is meant to do. It’s fun, it’s quirky and it certainly made me laugh.
