Husky Rescue

Husky Rescue

Husky Rescue is signed to their own record label titled ‘El Camino.’ Their last CD, ‘Ship of Light’ which was released in 2010 had fantastic reviews and their latest CD, ‘The Long Lost Friend’ which is set to release this June is also expected to impress. Their new single ‘Tree House’, released today starts with an overlay of Finnish words translating to English as ‘Far away from Hemifran, far away from home’ the song has a blend of electronic drums, soft synth beats and xylophonic harmonies.

The lyrics of 'Tree House' describe a relationship between two people and their connection with nature. With distinctive lyrics such as ‘Folks admire, we're proud but tired. We're serving fresh cupcakes and choi. Bonfire blazes, light up friendly faces, all having the time of our life.’ The song is oozing with songwriting talent and the lead singer Johanna Kalén has a beautiful uplifting voice to match the meaningful lyrics. She has only recently joined the band for the upcoming album. The creator of the band Marko Nyberg decided to reorganise the band after the album ‘Ship of Light’ and said in an interview with DIY after the release of his last album that ‘he hopes this change will make the music sound more connected to nature than ever before.’

Husky Rescue’s songs are refreshingly different from any other mainstream music on the charts. They interpret nature’s sounds into their music resulting in a calming flow of melodic sounds and their lyrics are positive and upbeat. I listened to a few of their older songs to compare to their latest track ‘Tree House’ and I think that Johanna Kalén’s chilling vocals bring a whole new light to their unique sound. I don’t think their music would be to everyone’s taste but if music lovers want to listen to a comforting, beautiful and fresh new song then Husky Rescue’s new single ‘Tree House’ is for you. Their new album ‘Long Lost Friend’ was released on the 12th of April in Scandinavia but the rest of the world will have to wait until the 3rd of June. If you buy their album and want to see the band live, they are playing at ‘The London Hoxton Bar & Kitchen’ on the 10th of June.

I give the 'Tree House' song a rating of ****
