Luke Temple's first album 'Here We Go Magic' was a gem, and he has now released the second single off his much-anticipated second record 'Good Mood Fool'.
The track, titled 'Florida' delves into the real-life story of one of Luke's friends who suffered the loss of his father, resulting in the development of a cocaine problem.
Discussing the track, Temple says, "My friend was going through a tough time... I was feeling for her and wrote this song."
Bongos and a molasses bass line form the foundations for this song's production leading into the unique, multi-tracked chorus, and the bridge isn't dissimilar to a sax solo through its use of an Arp String Ensemble and Nord Wave.
The exploration of the vintage 80s synth sounds throughout should be a welcome addition to any loyal fan who has waited for someone as impressive as the greats.
Temple's album 'Good Mood Fool' is released November 4 via Secretly Canadian, but can be pre-ordered today.
