A powerful, heartfelt and classy comeback.
I’ve always been a fan of Stone; even before I listened to her new single I knew that I wouldn’t be disappointed. She always releases authentic, powerful songs that manage to resonate with every listener.
Stone’s rendition of the popular song, The Love We Had, made famous by R&B vocal group The Dells is stunning to say the least. You can almost feel the fire fuelled behind her powerful vocals. The original is a terrific song but Joss Stone’s interpretation blows it out of the water. I really can’t wait to hear the rest of The Soul Session album.
Soul Sessions, Volume 2 has already gathered positive reviews from the likes of The Guardian and The Sunday Times. ‘A powerful, heartfelt and classy comeback’ says The Guardian and The Sunday Times goes as far as to say it is ‘Stone’s best album by far.’
Joss Stone’s emotional storm manifests into torrential rain in the music video for the new single. The track The Love We had is lifted from her latest album The Soul Sessions, Volume 2, which is a sequel to her 2003 debut, The Souls Sessions.
Joss comments on the video adaptation of her new version of The Love We Had ‘The video I think is perfect because of the water really. Second you hear I'm gonna be drenched in water you think...this is a white t-shirt contest, but that's not it, this is all surrounded by the drops going down the pain of glass...It's all about actual tear drops.’
The Soul Sessions, Volume 2 is out now.
