OUT NOW
Rating: 4/5
Isolated Atoms grabbed everyone’s attention last year with the release of their EP Illuminate and now they are back with their infectious track Hold On.
This band has a sound that does distinctly belong to them and they have been whipping up a storm on the live circuit since the release of that EP.
Hold On opens with a great melodic guitar that immediately grabs you attention but the gritty and powerful vocals of Grant Leon Ashman kick in.
There is a real gravely sound to Ashman’s vocal at the beginning of the track but he shows that there is also a great power to it as well - he has a voice that really was made for rock and roll.
There are quiet and emotional moments to the track - particularly in the verses - before the energy really kicks on in the chorus as the guitars drive the song forward.
Hold On is undoubtedly a rock track but it does have a pop edge to it that makes it very radio friendly - not to mention it is one of those songs that you know will just sound terrific live.
Hold On is also one of those melodic and infectious tracks that will get stuck in your head and I am exciting to see what the band do for the rest of the year - hopefully there is a full length album just around the corner.
