The Voluntary Butler Scheme is back this week with his new single Brain Freeze - which sees him return to the sounds of his first album.
Brain Freeze is a light and yet soulful indie track which really is a whole lot of fun from start to finish.
He paints a real picture with the lyrics that he writes because he is such a vivid and descriptive songwriter - and with the lyrics of this track he does seem to be having a great time.
The instrumentation on Brain Freeze is also fantastic with trumpets being the driving force, and it is these that really give the track that party/carnival atmosphere.
Smoke Alarms is the B-side to the single and it really does follow a similar path to Brain Freeze as once again it is brass that is the main instrumentation.
This is another fun and laidback track that you can simply just sit back and enjoy as it really is a great listen.
Brain Freeze has been lifted from his new album A Million Ways To Make Gold and if all of the tracks are as great as this then we are in for a real treat.
