Emily Barker & The Red Clay Halo return this week with their fantastic brand of folk music in the form of their new single Field of June.
This track sees Emily Barker and co have teamed up with Frank Turner - a man that brings a little bit of punk to the folk genre.
And it seems to be a match made in heaven as they have created one of the best tracks that I have heard so far this year.
A chorus of strings open the track before the guitar kicks in and the two instruments so fantastically together and it immediately makes you sit up and take notice.
And if you think that this is set to be a slow placed track then think again as the pace really picks up as Emily Barker’s voice rings out.
There bassline is perhaps heavier than you would expect from this genre but it really does give the track a real kick - Turner’s edgy sound really comes into its own.
There is a real energy and pace to this track that you can’t help but get swept along in it - not to mention that the vocals from Barker and Turner are just fantastic.
This is a track that is excellently written and superbly performed it is an absolute gem of a track.
