Charlie Lankester has already enjoyed a career that has spanned years playing keyboards for the likes of The Boogie Band and Linda Gail Lewis but this week sees him release his debut single.
The Spinning Of The Wheel is the first single from his debut album Song In A Minor and sees him step into the limelight for the very first time.
And with his band the Mojo Killers this singer/songwriter has created an incredibly memorable debut track.
He mixes many genres with The Spinning of the Wheel from rock to Blues and a little but of swing and they all blend so fantastically together.
But what also works well is the wide range of instruments on the song guitar, drums, saxophone, and the trombone all come together to give the track this infectious swagger.
Lankester has a great deep vocal and he really brings the lyrics to life with the delicate growl that he has - not to mention the lyrics tell a real story.
This is a catchy track from start to fashion and you will be humming the chorus for the rest of the day - I am really looking forward to the rest of the album!
