This album was recorded in one single weekend and in many ways, you can see this. Many of the songs sound clumsy and busy but there is a certain charm to this album that cannot be simply shrugged off.
This Garage Rock album may not stick in your head for long, but it won’t be a completely disappointing listen. Although you might want to take their advice and get ‘limozined’ to make this an easier listen.
Tokyo 1970 starts the album off and here you are welcomed with a fast beat and a whiney voice. Although there is a unique sound to this band, it will not make it to your top 10 albums of all time.
Limozine offers many laughs on the album and this is shown on ‘Jonny Got Shot By A UFO’, which is inspired by the true story of the band guitarist, Jonny Zero, who was shot by a UFO on him way back from a late off licence.
The track ‘You’ve Been Limozined’ is one of the better tracks on the album. The song is energetic and fun and makes us all think back to that time when we’d had one to many drinks and made a fool of ourselves. The term “You’ve been limozined” is a slang term for when someone is drunk and this is a good listen if you don’t mind listening to something with no meaning or message in it.
With the wailing vocals and clumsy beat, this 24 minute album does not make easy listening. It is good for a fun listen but will not leave you satisfied once it is over.
