Hannah Scott has already been on the music scene for a few years and has toured with the likes of Ed Sheeran and Seth Lakeman - this week she releases her debut EP Still Static.
This is a collection of tracks that not only shows Scott off as a great vocalist but also as a terrific song-writer; it’s not surprising that there are many people getting excited about this artist.
Only Way Out kicks off the five track collection and it is a pop song that has a very distinct folk sound to it - the two genres sitting together really well.
This track shows off Scott’s vocal range as she soars to the high notes with the greatest of ease and she really does have a very distinctive vocal style.
This is a track that is packed with energy and with the stripped back production Scott really does let her voice and the fantastic instruments that are present on this song shine through.
Still Static is the title track on the EP sees Scott bring the pace down a notch and it is perhaps the most mainstream pop tracks in the collection.
Still Static is a song that was born to be played on radio and the delicate chorus drives into a more upbeat and melodic chorus.
The emotion of the song pours out of Scott’s voice with every word that she sings and it really is a great track - there is a beautiful acoustic version of the song later on the EP.
Your Lullaby is a piano driven track as she mixes up the sound a bit and moves away from the acoustic guitar for the first time.
She slows the pace down even more for this rather emotional and haunting ballad and it is a track that shows off the power of her voice better than any of the other tracks on the record.
This EP has a whole is very sparse on the production side of things and Your Lullaby is the most stripped back and bare tracks - a style that really suits her beautiful voice.
Days of Wine sees her pick up the pace again, as well as return to the guitar, for what is the folkier song on the EP.
Hannah Scott is an artist that we should all be getting exciting about she pours her heart and soul into her song-writing to produce a collection of stunning songs.
