Treetop Flyers are a band to watch out for this year as they release their debut album this week in the form of The Mountain Moves.
The band are set to embark on a UK and European tour off the back of the release of the album and it is not hard to see why people are getting excited about this five piece.
Things Will Change kicks off the record and it is the perfect blend of rock and country while you can really hear the American influences come though on almost all of the tracks on this album.
But Things Will Change has a real energy to it and it is a great catchy opening track that shows off the band’s melodies and harmonies - it really is a terrific track.
Houses Are Burning has a bit of a rockier edge to it but there is still that country/Americana feel to the track.
Reid Morrison is one of those singers that you struggle to forget after you have heard them for the first time as he just as a haunting quality to his vocal - and that really is on show on this track.
Morrison has a really distinctive vocal style and while he doesn’t do anything complicated with his vocal performance he has one of those voices that just draws you in.
And throughout this entire album they have not overproduced the vocals and that fits really well with this genre of music - everything just has a natural and carefree vibe to it.
Waiting On You sees the band bring the pace down a notch as this track has a real swagger to it and it is another track that really does pay homage to the sound of the West Coast.
The Mountain Moves is an album that just washes over you as the band really tell stories and paint vivid pictures with all of the tracks that are on this record.
Not only are this band set to have huge success here in the UK but it looks like they are going to follow in the very successful footsteps of Mumford & Sons and be the next big British success in America.
The Mountain Moves is a fantastic debut record that balances, rock, country and soul elements perfectly resulting in a very unique sound. This is a record not to be missed.
