Artist: Foe
Title: Bad Dream Hotline

Rating: 4/5
We may only be three weeks into 2012 but it seems that we have already found one of the artists to watch out for over the next twelve months.
This one to watch comes in the form of Hannah Clark aka Foe as she releases her debut album Bad Dream Hotline - which really is a great record.
Bad Dream Hotline sees Foe blend rock and pop as she mixes darker versus with really catchy and more uplifting choruses.
But here is a word of warning the opening song Balled For The Brainkeepers takes over a minute to kick in so if you are impatient like me just hang in there or you will miss out on a really good song.
The opening soft vocals turn into this great punk/pop song that really sets the tone for the rest of this fab album.
The likes of Tyrant Song and Get Money really are the commercial radio songs while Ballad For The Brainkeepers and Jailhouse are the darker songs on the record.
She is not afraid to experiment with different guitar sounds, Tyrant Song being a perfect example as mixes distorted guitar sounds with an organ.
But it’s not all pop-rock as Clark shows off her more vulnerable side with Dance and Weep which really is a powerful and emotional record.
Dance and Weep is the stand out song on the album as it is the only ballad - it’s also one of the strongest on the album.
There may be a lot of solo ladies out there having success but Foe looks set to join them as she has a unique sound that stands out from the rest.
