The Good The Bad are back with their third album and this really is a gem of a record that is not to be missed this week.
This band really shows off just how great an instrument the guitar is - if you are not familiar with their work they produce instrumental records.
Yes 034 - 050 is all about how fantastic the guitar sounds and there is no vocal content on this album at all - making it one of the most unique records of the year; not to mention a breath of fresh air.
It’s incredibly how one track blends into another with just a simple lick of riff and it just sounds like one continuous jam session where the musicians are having the time if their lives.
There is perhaps more of psyche feel to their music than every before but, much like their previous albums, The Good The Band continue to channel the spirit of Phil Spector and Ennio Morricone.
There is just something so cool about this record not to mention cinematic. These tracks feel grander and more epic than anything that they have ever produced before and wouldn’t be out of place on the soundtrack of a Quentin Tarantino movie.
This is an album that you can really get lost in and, if you love guitar music, like I do then you will find an excellent listen. However music lovers who prefer something to sing along may not agree.
There is not one weak moment on this track and if you love rock and roll then this is absolutely not to be missed.
