Stillman are back this week with their new four track EP Eton Mess which tackles some very real and current issues.
Throughout the record the band hit out at politicians and people in power and this is perhaps their most honest record.
Eton Mess is the opening track and the bass line this is to die for and the rifts are not bad either.
This is a great opening track and you can tell with this sing that this band has something quite profound to say with their music.
And that becomes all too clear with Soon Enough as the track follows the story of a man who has a sick wife and he is struggling with the mounting medical bills.
This track is a little darker in tone that Eton Mess but the guitar work on it is just as impressive.
This is a track that is pack with emotions as the vocals are strained and quite tight - but that works well with the tale that is being told through the lyrics.
There is a change of tone again with Grit & Blood as this really is a call to arms track.
But this track doesn't quite crescendo into the anthemic song that you expect it to - Stillman choosing to have the power in the words of the track instead of making it something to sing along to.
The Rats Tale is the closing track on the EP and this has a real folktale feel to it with some really soulful sounding guitars from start to finish.
This is a very brave record from Stillman as it really does have something to say about the world that we currently live in - this album truly is a product of the times.
There is a real power to the message throughout the album it's a shame there isn't a little more of it.
