Moya is back this week with the release of her debut album Lost & Found, which features Telling Tales as well as her new single Lost & Found.
The singer-songwriter has delivered a pop record that is laced with some real soul that shows off her great voice as well as her song-writing ability.
Lost & Found is the opening track on the album and it is one of the most interesting tracks on the record as the way that Moya’s delivers the vocal really gives it a claustrophobic feel.
The track kicks off with an interesting guitar riff and it a slow start as Moya’s vocal really starts to bring the track alive before the beat kicks in.
Her vocal brings throughout the track and there is a feel of Alanis Morissette’s song Uninvited to - it is defiantly one of the album highlights.
She picks up the pace with Making Me Fall and this is just a great slice of pop and there is a great contrast between quick versus with the quieter and more delicate chorus - and this works really well.
Neil Thomas features on the track and his deeper vocals work really well against Moya, who shows off her range throughout this track.
Moya has explored different genres with this record as Technicolor has a soulful feel to it and is driven forward by the piano - an instrument that is a perfect for the delicate vocals.
Morning Rain sees her change sound again as this has a real Latin flavour to it - which comes as a bit of a surprise as it is the only track that goes in this direction.
Moya shows off the sultry side of her vocals with this track and there is a real seductiveness about this song.
Lost & Found is an album that shows off many sides of Moya as she is an artist who can adapt her vocals to a whole host of different sounds and genres.
And whether is be a pop, soul or piano driven track Moya has crafted it with real care and considered every word and intake of breath.
This is a catchy record from Moya and she has shown that has a bright future.
